A stop at this oasis is on nearly every itinerary and it is truly paradise. You can spend the day snorkeling like a mermaid amidst tropical sea pals, bike ride with oceanic breezes kissing your face, take a yoga class with your "downward dog Pluto" in the sand, or just relax with a cool drink gazing out to sea from a hammock... The barbecue lunch at "Cookie's" is delectable too! After a visit to Castaway Cay, it may very well become your new "happy place!" Disney invites guests to one of the most distinctive cruise experiences afloat. Disney has created a number of innovations with these ships. Chief among them are: cabins boasting a bath-and-a-half and a rotating dining room schedule where guests dine at three different restaurants, with the same waitstaff who provide personalized, impeccable service! Family-friendly is a theme Disney never goes without and onboard, the ships offer the elaborate Walt Disney Theatre resembling a plush Broadway house, as well as the Buena Vista Cinema, featuring Disney flicks.

D Lounge is a family play area with a stage encouragingfamilies to spend time together singing karaoke, playing games or participating in other activities such as trivia. The bar is open during performances.

Pool areas are unmatched. The central pool on all four ships are geared toward families; there's a pool for younger kiddies with a 200-ft. Mickey water slide, and a small sprinkler tub for toddlers. An adults-only pool exists as well on Magic and Wonder, and on Dream and Fantasy the grownup area encompasses several decks and bars. The Dream and Fantasy were innovative in the waterpark-at-sea notion by creating the AquaDuck~ the FIRST-EVER watercoaster aboard a cruise ship! Sitting atop the ship, it features a transparent, acrylic tube propelling splash seekers along on a raft, up and down four decks of the ship -- at one point swinging out 13 feet off the side, 150 feet above the ocean! For a real soak, kids (and adults) can mosey on up to Disney Fantasy's AquaLab, some say the genesis of the AquaDuck. It's a super fun way to get wet standing up, as water pours from buckets, through holes in the wall and fountain jets on the deck. More seasoned folks (the older adults!) have more than a pool where they can escape. Palo is a renowned boutique eatery on each ship featuring northern Italian cuisine. You'll want to reserve the minute you get onboard. If you want a real indulgence, Remy offers top-of-the-line French fare on Dream and Fantasy. The onboard spa is decadent for the grown ups but a bit off-limits to the younger generation (although there is a Chill Teen Spa with specialized services); a sumptuous highlight is the spa's adults-only rain forest steam room. Another exciting part of the ship for those 21-and-older is the adults-only stretch of bars, lounges and nightclubs called "After Hours." There is a dance club to get your groove on and a sports pub to chill. Some family cabins house six, but Disney's larger than average staterooms can accommodate at least four. Verandas are a lovely option too. All come with bathtubs, a TV, a safe and the many lush ammenities Disney is known for such as the sea salt bath products.

The kids program is facilitated by many caring youth counselors and security is a tip top priority. Scheduled character greetings take place throughout each day (and many surprise visits, as well!) It's a Small World nursery is available for parents needing childcare for their infants through age 3. Spanning almost an entire deck, the Oceaneer Club is a supervised program for children aged 3 to 7, split into age teams of 3 to 4 and 5 to 7. The Oceaneer Lab is differentiated into groups for kids aged 8 to 9 and 10 to 12, and touts high-tech interactive programs, hands-on science experiments and shipwide treasure hunts. Eleven and twelve year olds can compete in a marine biology knowledge game show and skyrocket digital postcards to friends. Tweens and young teens11 to 13 have Edge, while older teens14 to 17 chill in Vibe (including an outdoor area with hot tubs). Both clubs are decked out with cozy furnishings and the latest tech equipment. Once signed in onboard the ship, children are automatically enrolled in the programs on Castaway Cay.
